Quase um ano depois da morte de JJ Cale, é anunciado o lançamento do disco tributo “Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale”, capitaneado, como diz o título, porEric Clapton. O disco traz grandes nomes da guitarra e do classic rock interpretando composições de Cale. Entre os mais conhecidos estão Mark Knoplfer, Tom Petty, Willie Nelson e o próprio Clapton. O lançamento acontece no dia 29 de julho, três dias depois do aniversário de um ano da morte de JJ Cale.

Além de Eric Clapton, que fez sucesso com músicas de Cale como “Cocaine” e “After Midnight”, bandas como Lynyrd Skynyrd, Captain Beefheart, Santana eAllman Brothers também gravaram composições de Cale.
